After pickup at 8:00 AM in Hanoi, we’ll transfer for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to a peaceful rural village on the outskirts of Luong Son. From here, the ride begins along quiet country lanes through a rustic, picturesque landscape toward Boi River, passing impressive karst limestone formations and lush rice paddies. The route then follows smooth tarmac roads winding along the mountainsides, offering panoramic views of deep green valleys and layered rice terraces.

We’ll cross the tranquil Boi River and continue through fertile farmland and expansive valleys before reaching a small village by the DT128B Road. A shuttle transfer then takes us to Man Duc Township for a well-deserved late lunch after approximately 35 km of cycling in the morning. After a leisurely breakfast, we set out to experience the rich culture and daily life of the ethnic minorities in the lush Mai Chau Valley. From the hotel, we embark on a scenic bicycle ride through the charming villages of Poom Coong and Lac, where we visit a welcoming White Thai family and meander along peaceful lanes lined with beautiful traditional stilt houses. Along the way, we stop at local workshops to observe skilled artisans weaving colorful Thai textiles and preserving their cultural heritage.

After completing a pleasant 10 km cycling loop through the valley, we transfer for about an hour to the outskirts of Mai Chau and continue our cycling adventure toward Cuc Phuong. The route takes us through spectacular landscapes of dense forests, picturesque valleys, terraced rice fields, and traditional stilt-house villages nestled along the hillsides. Today will have a picnic lunch on the way.

Today's ride is relatively easy. The first 12 km features gentle rolling terrain, followed by approximately 25 km of mostly downhill riding. The remainder of the route is flat as we cycle to Vu Ban, where our support vehicle awaits for a one-hour transfer to Cuc Phuong.

We then take a shuttle deeper into the heart of Cuc Phuong National Park before picking up our bikes and beginning a scenic ride through one of Vietnam’s most pristine natural landscapes.

From the park's center, we follow a beautiful 19-kilometer route through dense tropical forest. Climb nearly 500 stone steps to the summit and be rewarded with panoramic views of Tam Coc’s limestone peaks, winding river, and emerald-green rice fields.

Long was a very good guide, I enjoyed his company. The bikes were good quality too and well maintained. Considering the tour is on the expensive end, I did question the accommodation decisions a bit. I personally enjoyed the more basic home stays (despite it making my evening of work quite difficult 😅), but others in the group did not. Perhaps you should ask the client what their preference is beforehand? Also, I think the boat trip at Tam Coc was unecessary too. I have already done it before & would have preferred more cycling. But I'm sure this is a nice addition for those who have never visited Vietnam before, so it's hard to stay what is best. Overall a very good experience =). 14 - 17/11/2023
