Depending on the group size and the cyclists' riding abilities, our tour operations team will assign an appropriate number of cycling guides and bike mechanics to ensure the highest level of support throughout the journey.

Our experienced cycling guides lead the rides, provide route assistance, share local insights, and ensure the group's safety and enjoyment. Meanwhile, our skilled bike mechanics accompany the tour to handle repairs, adjustments, and routine maintenance, keeping every bicycle in excellent condition.

Whether you are part of a small group of casual riders or a large group of experienced cyclists, we carefully tailor our guide-to-rider and mechanic-to-rider ratios to match the group's needs. This personalized approach allows every participant to enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well-supported cycling adventure from start to finish.

Backup vehicles on rural paths

Many countryside routes are narrow and often only wide enough for bicycles or motorbikes. Our support vehicles (vans or minibuses for riders and trucks for bicycles) are too large to travel directly on these paths. To accommodate this, the vehicles use nearby main roads, secondary highways, or wider country roads, remaining as close to the cycling group as possible throughout the journey.

Whether you need a rest, assistance with your bike, or transportation to skip a section of the route, the support vehicles are always on standby, providing every cyclist with comfort, confidence, and peace of mind throughout the journey

Always nearby and ready to assist

The support vehicles are never far from the riders, ensuring quick assistance whenever needed. If a rider wishes to take a break, relax in the air-conditioned vehicle, or stop cycling for the day, the tour leader will guide them to the nearest point where the support vehicle can be reached. Riders will encounter the support vehicle approximately every 15–25 km along the route, providing regular opportunities to rest, refresh, and receive assistance if required.

Efficient coordination

Tour leaders and drivers work closely together to ensure smooth logistics throughout the journey. Depending on the route, they identify the safest and most efficient locations for riders to access the support vehicle without unnecessary delays. The support vehicles carry spare bicycles and essential tools, allowing for quick repairs or bike replacements whenever necessary.

Morning transfers to the countryside

Begin your day by avoiding the congestion and hustle of city traffic. Our air-conditioned vehicles will transport you and your bicycle from the bustling city to a peaceful countryside location, where your cycling adventure begins. This allows you to start your ride in the most picturesque and tranquil surroundings, saving your energy and time for the beautiful landscapes and cultural experiences ahead.

Evening transfers to the next destination town

At the end of each day, as your ride concludes in the late afternoon, you’ll board the vehicles again for a comfortable transfer to the next destination, where we will spend the night. This ensures you bypass heavy traffic in urban areas, allowing you to relax and reflect on your day’s journey rather than navigating busy roads. The transfer also provides extra time to enjoy your accommodation, explore the local area, or simply unwind before the next day’s adventure.

At Vietnam Backroads, we efficiently utilize a single 16-seater air-conditioned van to accommodate riders, luggage, and bicycles, ensuring a comfortable and well-organized journey for everyone.

Comfortable seating for riders
The van is equipped with four rows of seating, with each row comfortably accommodating two passengers. This arrangement provides ample space for up to eight riders to travel in comfort while enjoying the air-conditioned environment during transfers and rest periods.

Secure luggage storage
The third row of seats is designated for luggage and suitcases, ensuring that your belongings are stored safely, organized efficiently, and remain easily accessible whenever needed.

Safe bicycle transportation
The last row of seats is folded up to create dedicated space for bicycle storage. This area securely accommodates all bikes, protecting them during transportation between cycling routes and destinations.

For medium-sized cycling groups of 5 to 6 travelers, Vietnam Backroads provides a two-vehicle support system to ensure a smooth, comfortable, and well-organized adventure. This setup offers the flexibility and convenience needed to accommodate larger groups while maintaining the highest standards of safety, comfort, and efficiency.

Vehicle 1: 16-seater air-conditioned van

Purpose & features: Designed to transport riders and their luggage in comfort.

Four rows of seating, comfortably accommodating up to seven riders.
Ample space for passengers to relax during transfers.
Luggage and suitcases are securely stored in designated areas within the van.

Vehicle 2: dedicated bike support truck

Purpose & features : Exclusively designed to transport bicycles and essential cycling equipment.

Carries all bicycles, including spare bikes for emergencies.
Equipped with tool kits for on-the-road maintenance and repairs.
Includes an icebox stocked with cold drinks for riders during rest stops.
Provides additional storage space for equipment and gear, allowing the van to remain spacious and comfortable for passengers.

Optional 18-seater van for 6 riders, luggage, and bikes

Our spacious 18-seater support van comfortably accommodates up to 6 riders, along with their luggage and bicycles. The vehicle is carefully organized to provide ample seating, secure storage for personal belongings, and safe transportation for bikes. This setup ensures a comfortable and efficient travel experience throughout your cycling adventure, with plenty of room for both passengers and equipment.

Large groups of 13–18 riders

For medium-sized groups of 8 to 12 participants, we provide a well-organized support system consisting of one 18-seater air-conditioned minibus dedicated support truck.
