Located on the left bank of the Mekong River, Cao Lanh is the capital of Dong Thap Province and a gateway to some of the Mekong Delta’s most fascinating natural and historical attractions. Surrounded by the vast Plain of Reeds, the city offers visitors an authentic glimpse into rural Vietnam and the region’s rich agricultural heritage. Just 40 km northwest of the city lies Tram Chim National Park, a spectacular wetland reserve covering more than 7,000 hectares. Visitors can explore its waterways by boat and observe a diverse range of birdlife, including rare and migratory species.

About 35 km southeast of Cao Lanh is Xeo Quyt Forest, a 52-hectare ecological and historical site. Hidden beneath its dense canopy are former Viet Cong bunkers and command centers used during the Vietnam War. Today, visitors can discover the forest by canoe and walking trails while learning about its remarkable wartime history. Combining peaceful landscapes, rich wildlife, and significant historical sites, Cao Lanh offers a rewarding experience for travelers seeking to explore the heart of the Mekong Delta.
