Ba Be National Park is a peaceful and remote nature reserve in northeastern Vietnam. It is home to many kinds of wildlife, including 65 species of mammals, 353 species of butterflies, 106 species of fish, four species of turtles, the rare Vietnamese salamander, and the burmese python. The park is also a great place for birdwatching, with 233 recorded bird species, including the impressive crested serpent eagle and oriental honey buzzard. Ba Be became a national park in 1992. Its landscape features limestone mountains rising to 1,554 meters, deep valleys, thick evergreen forests, waterfalls, and caves.
