Introduction

The small peninsula city of Quy Nhon, nestled amidst outlying islands and Thi Nai deepwater lagoon, was recently famous for the Formula 1 motorboat race. The town is known for the many towers of Binh Lam and Banh It and Duong Long Cham Temple, centuries-old, overgrown, and crumbling red-brick towers on hillsides and rivers with mountain views. The Champa people inhabited the central coast of Vietnam between the fifth and the early nineteenth centuries and lived mainly on seafaring. The region is divided by numerous rivers, which are often separated by mountains. As a result, the Cham were not a unified kingdom but a loosely knit series of polities whose power waxed and waned depending on the efficacy of their current ruler.

Leave Nha Trang at 7:30 am and enjoy an hour of vehicle drives to Van Ninh township- a small fishing port. The ride will start at Van Gia township, follow the cost route through the quiet little town, enjoy ocean freeze, and look over many small color fishing boats alongside. Ride past the tiny fishing port with a small bridge where local fishing boats, tourist boats come back from the sea, and fishing islands. Then, escape the small town and ride into rural villages, past small markets along the pathways, rice fields stretching to mountain feet, waving kids when cycling past primary schools. Stop by a vibrant market to experience the life of the locals. It's a small market with little-lined shop holders selling fresh fish, fruits, and varied commodities. Here is the way you taste and smell the real life of locals. Afterward, the ride takes you deeper into the rural area through fish farms, fruit orchards, and dirt tracks to Co Ma Mountain. It's an excellent way to challenge your body, mind, and physical strength after the morning on flat routes.

The afternoon ride will start in Tuy An village after a 1.5-hour transfer after lunch. Follow the back roads through the lagoon, roll the mountain, and ride toward the beach. Pecal along sandy beaches, little small fishing villages, enjoy stunning views of vast rice paddy, cross the An Hai Bridge, and pass the cactus fields to Tien Chau Fishing post. We then slowly roll through scenic villages by the sea and cross the Phu Ngan River on Binh Thanh Bridge - Tiger Wooden Bridge to Highway 1A, where we'll transfer to Quy Nhon in the late afternoon.

We start the day ride with a vehicle transfer out of the city—just a 20-minute drive over Thi Ngai, the longest sea bridge in Vietnam. Pick up the bike and be ready for a long day to explore beautiful lagoons and dunes along the peninsula. The scenery along the routes is lovely, with tiny villages in the lowland as you gaze down from the ways and colorful temples and pagodas. Then, ride past dunes and undulating concrete roads, most on narrow pathways through agricultural lands alongside the river to Cat Tien. Take the right turn on the coast, where you can see the giant 4 Buddha statue on the mountain, next to the Viet Cong cemetery. It's a nice place to have a water stop with plenty of photos. Continue your adventurous ride on the coast, climb up some minor hills, enjoy mountainous scenery, and ride down to lush farmlands. Keep cycling past many fishing villages and sandy beaches, stop at the town for a coffee break, have fruits and snacks, and get more water for the next stop. Follow a small concrete road, ride through many rustic villages and farms where you stop off some, learn more about rural life, and experience fish farming. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the small fishing village.

Afterward, you continue the authentic way on the coastal route, crossing through salt fields and crouching markets that sell fresh fish directly from the sea. Carry on the ride to another colorful fishing village with hundreds of fishing sampans and circular boats. It is perfect for walking around for photos taken and meeting villagers. Then, continue cycling or biking on the coast route, passing many shrimp farms and fish before following the small concrete paths leading to a beautiful lagoon. Enjoy cycling on the lakeside and view the peaceful landscape with mountains around. Leave the lagoon behind and continue onwards to Tam Quan. Ride through the countryside and magnificent mountain views, and climb up small hills before exploring the homeland of coconut plantations. The last part allows you to get more pictures, meet friendly locals, and cross through rustic villages on the way to Tam Quan. Finally, rest on vehicle transfer for 20 minutes to Sa Huynh Beach Resort.

Get up early, walk to the beach, and enjoy the most peaceful time of the day. Back to the hotel for breakfast and prepare for today's adventurous ride. There is a short transfer from the hotel, and take a quick stop at the salt fields for the photo taken before the ride. You follow the small concrete road and ride into the picturesque rural villages of Duc Pho. The seaside countryside is quiet, with some smaller towns, lush farms, and stunning scenery. Take a nice stop at the beautiful shallow lake home to fresh fish. The villagers do a lot of fishing on this lake by fish strap and net in the rainy season but more crops of rice and vegetables in the dry season. Continue crossing the rivers to coastal villages that offer an incredible diversity of farmlands and stunning scenery along the villages.—lunch en route.
